What exactly is Express Entry, and how do I apply?
The Canadian government uses Express Entry to manage applications for permanent residency. Express Entry ranks candidates’ profiles using a point-based system known as the CRS. The system oversees three major programmes:
The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST), and the Canadian Experience Class are all federal programmes (CEC) It takes two steps to apply for Express Entry. The first step is to submit your profile along with the necessary documentation. Language test results, educational credentials, and passport or travel documentation are typically required documents.
Should I apply for Express Entry right now?
Even if your CRS score is less than 500, you should still apply to the Express Entry pool right away.
One of the most compelling reasons to join the Express Entry pool is increased exposure to Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP). PNPs have recently become a more popular immigration route. More candidates are expected to immigrate through PNPs over the next three years than through all other Federal High Skilled Worker programmes combined.
Provinces frequently use the Express Entry system to find candidates who fit labour market or demographic requirements. Candidates with in-demand work experience or strong French language skills may have a better chance of being chosen for a PNP. These programmes frequently invite qualified applicants directly from the Express Entry pool. That is, simply having a profile in the Express Entry pool gives you the opportunity to receive an invitation from a province.
When will the next Express Entry round be held?
All-program Express Entry draws will continue to be held biweekly, according to IRCC. Following this timeline, the next all-program Express Entry draw is scheduled for October 26th, 2022.
